The Foundation has also established a separate Colac Sub Fund for the Colac community. The Foundation was successful in receiving a $100,000 allocation from the State Government to establish a Colac Sub Fund. A Colac Sub Fund Advisory Committee has been established, and the Committee and the Community are working hard to match this funding.

The Colac Sub Fund of the South West Community Foundation invites eligible community organizations active in  Colac to submit project proposals to be considered for funding for the 2010/2011 year.  Funding is available for entire projects or for part of a larger project. It is envisaged that funding for 2010 would be between $500 and $2,500  will be available to successful organisations.

Organisations should obtain a copy of the Colac Sub Fund Grant Application Guidelines and Application Form to ensure eligibility. Prospective applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the Executive Officer, Sandra Plummer PRIOR to completing or submitting an application to discuss their project or discuss their project ideas with representatives of the Colac Sub Fund Advisory Committee whose details appear on the website.  Please note that grants are generally not available for infrastructure or payment of salaries or normally recurring operating expenses of an organisation.

Please note that grant applications for the Colac Sub Fund of the South West Community Foundation are open until 30th September 2010. The Colac Sub Fund provides grants between $500 and $2500 to community groups in Colac only.

OTHER ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS

• Partnerships - We have recently entered a partnership with South West Credit in Warrnambool. Our partnership encourages term deposit holders to donate interest from their accounts to the Foundation. Your help "from the ground up" will assist community organisations in your own back yard

• Bequests - The South West Community Foundation, in collaboration with Emmanuel College, Lyndoch and South West Health Care have developed an Information booklet for the region encouraging bequests to regional organisations. If you would like a copy or would like further information, please download below:

• Workplace Giving – Various organisations throughout the region support the Foundation through workplace giving. For a small amount each week ($2.00 from each pay) you are able to make a sizeable fully tax deductible donation over the course of the year. If you or your employer are interested in being involved, please contact us today and help us to grow "from the ground up".

• Giving - If you would like to support the Foundation by making a donation, please download the form below. We thankyou for your support.

• Workplace Fundraising - Some workplaces assist the Foundation by holding "fundraising" days such as Casual Fridays, whereby the funds raised are donated to the Foundation.

• Ambassadors - The Foundation is looking for interested persons to become Ambassadors to the Foundation. Your role would be to actively promote the Foundation and the benefits to your community. It could be your way of becoming involved with a regional Foundation whose aims are to support and grow your community. You are not requried to attend meetings or report - all we ask is that you talk about us and help us grow, increase the awareness of the Foundation in your community.
